Materials:
- 100 Pennies
- Shoebox
- Graph paper
Instructions:
- Put the 100 pennies into the shoebox
- Make sure that they are all heads up.
- Close the shoebox.
- Shake the box vigorously.
- Open the box
- Count how many pennies are tails up in the shoebox
- Record your data
- Remove the tails-up pennies
- Close the box
- Repeat steps 4 through 9 four times
- Use the data to plot a graph
- Use the class total to plot a graph
This activity is supposed to demonstrate half-life.
